Common questions

Straightforward answers.

Do I need to do anything with Making Tax Digital?
If your qualifying income from property and/or self-employment is over £50,000, you'll need to keep digital records from April 2026 and submit quarterly updates to HMRC. The threshold drops to £30,000 from April 2027.
What does "qualifying income" mean?
It's your total gross income from property and/or self-employment combined, before expenses. Not your profit — your turnover. So if you receive £52,000 in rent across your properties, you're in scope even if your profit after mortgage interest and expenses is much lower.
Do you access my bank account?
No. You connect your bank yourself through secure Open Banking — the same system used by Monzo, Starling, and all major banking apps. We never see your bank login details. We can see your transactions inside the software to check everything's categorised correctly, but we have no access to your bank.
What about my accountant?
Your accountant continues to handle your tax return as normal. We set up the software that captures your records throughout the year — which actually makes your accountant's life easier at year-end because they get clean, categorised data instead of a shoebox of receipts.
What if I have more than 3 properties?
We're currently focused on landlords with 1–3 properties. If you have a larger portfolio, get in touch at info@supplyverifi.com and we'll discuss your needs.
Is this a subscription?
No. It's a one-off fee. Once you're set up, you manage your own quarterly updates using the software and the checklist we provide. There's nothing further to pay unless you choose to add an optional first-quarter review (£79).
Do you give tax advice?
No. We configure software. We don't prepare accounts, file tax returns, or advise on tax matters. For tax questions, speak to your accountant.
